The Watts Towers were built by an untrained artist, Simon Rodia, between 1921 and 1954. Over a frame of steel pipes and rods, these towers are decorated with found objects: shells, pieces of glass, bottles, and tile. Don't let the location deter your visit, the craftsmanship is breathtaking and worth the drive.
